1)  WHAT HOLIDAY(S) DO YOU CELEBRATE THIS TIME OF YEAR?

    Christmas & New Year -- but New Year isn't really a "holiday" for me as it is an endurance test...

2)  WHAT ARE SOME OF YOUR FAMILY TRADITIONS?

     Stockings on a stocking holder (we don't do Santa, but we do do stockings)... Christmas Eve services followed by opening a gift -- just one! And it's Parents' Choice.  <smile>... Finding the Baby Jesus from the nativity scene on Christmas morning (I hide him on  Christmas Eve)... Letting the Christmas tree lights stay on all night from Christmas Eve through Christmas morning.  Wearing a Santa hat to pass out presents. 

 

3)  WHAT ARE SOME OF YOUR FAVORITE FOODS TO EAT DURING THIS TIME OF YEAR?

  My wassail (it's a drink, but hey!), cruicziki (Polish dessert), anything peppermint, but most of my favorites are beverages.

 

4)  DO YOU LIKE CHRISTMAS MUSIC? IF SO, WHAT ARE YOUR FAVORITE CHRISTMAS SONGS.

     "Mary, Did You Know," (Kathy Mattea's version), "God Rest Ye Merry, Gentlemen," (Trans-Siberian Orchestra), "Adeste Fidelis" (yes, in Latin), "The First Noel"

 

5) WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE CHRISTMAS MOVIE / SPECIAL?

    It's a Wonderful Life

 

6)   WHAT DO YOU LIKE MOST ABOUT THE HOLIDAY SEASON?

    The season of Advent, family, eggnog, wassail, the music..

 

7)  WHAT DO YOU LIKE LEAST ABOUT THE HOLIDAY SEASON?

    That the decorations start showing up in July.

8)  DO YOU OWN ANY DORKY CHRISTMAS / HOLIDAY CLOTHES?

  Not anymore. lol Used  to, though, when I was a teacher.

   

9)  DO YOU GET A LITTLE SAD OR WISTFUL REFLECTING BACK ON THE YEAR?

    No, I tend to reminisce with a smile.

 

10)  DO YOU FEEL LIKE A NEW YEAR SIGNALS A NEW BEGINNING AND A CLEAN SLATE?

     Not really. I've always done that around Labor Day.  New Year, though, gives me the grand opportunity to mess up the date for months before I remember what year it is.

 

11) HOW DO YOU LIKE TO RING IN THE NEW YEAR?

     When I was a kid, Canyon Man and I would stay up late and record commercials on cassette tapes to play on New Year's Day. We'd color those hugely complicated Doodle Art posters. But these days.. I hang out with my guys and try to stay awake 'til midnight. But if I can't, that's okay, too. I'm really boring.

 

12) DO YOU HAVE ANY NEW YEAR'S DAY RITUALS / SUPERSTITIONS THAT SUPPOSEDLY BRING LUCK FOR THE NEW YEAR?

Not a one!

 

13) DO YOU MAKE NEW YEARS RESOLOUTIONS? IF SO, HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE FOR YOU TO BREAK THEM?

I don't make resolutions. 

 

14) WHAT IS YOUR NEW YEARS RESOLUTION FOR 2008?

Don't have one.   But if I am a better person by 2009, if I have grown more wise or kind or compassionate, then 2008 will go down as a good year.
