Death is not worse pain than an empty life. -- Lun Tha
The Sisters' ShoePhone Network
So.
Most people who know me know I do not like to shop. I have never been bitten by the "browse the mall" bug or anything. I go to a store with a list (in my head) of Things I Need and I find them, get to a register, find an impulse item (really cheap DVD I want, Altoids Dark Chocolate, a floor plan magazine), pay and leave.
The last pair of shoes I got to "go with my dresses" (I hate having a lot of shoes. It only confuses me.) broke. I broke it while doing something weird. I don't remember what, but I broke the sole of the shoe and that was that. So I have had nothing to "go with my dresses" since then. I've been not wearing the Have to Have That Kind of Shoe dresses and going with decorative sandals (glorified flip-flops...beaded, etc.) for the Maybe I Can Dress it Down dresses.
I only have a few, and those are the categories they come in.
So. I have no taste, I don't like to shop, but I needed a pair of shoes. I was at Target to Get Specific Items and found their shoe department, so I skimmed the aisles looking for something that seemed to say, "Yes, I go with dresses!"
I found a pair, put them on, took a picture and sent it to ShoeWoman via the Sister's ShoePhone Network, and asked her if we liked the shoes. She told me she did. I bought them.
This is how I shop with ShoeWoman when she's almost 900 miles away from me.
I'm so glad I can ask her these very hard questions. It's what sisters are for!
