Death is not worse pain than an empty life. -- Lun Tha
What was with the date, yesterday?
I had updated on the 14th, naturally, but it read for the 13th all day. Odd.
I like to call my family on holidays. Even Hall-(mark)-idays. I rang up my father and wished him a good day and mein Bruder, Canyon Man, was there, too. So I wished him a Happy Valentine's Day.
"You do know that this is the anniversary of the murder of a saint, don't you?" he inquires, with his usual droll "I'm so not amazed at the naivete of the world" voice.
"Yes," I inform him. Of course. In my family, we have researched the origins of most major calendar events. We like to be informed. And we're an odd bunch of ducks anyway. We were raised like that. I love it.

Being an odd duck has its disadvantages, but after a lifetime of cultivating this image, I have to say I enjoy it. Cyclone is becoming one, too. If we lived in closer proximity to Canyon Man, then I am sure Cyclone would be a little further along with this than he is. Canyon Man has always spurred on the wish in me to be inquisitive.
Sigh. I miss seeing my family!
It's Sunday morning, and I've got a lesson to review for my Jr. Highers. :-) We've arrived at the account of David and Goliath in the book of 1 Samuel.
I think I'll bring them the Veggie Tales (R) (TM) version. Believe it or not, the kids think those videos are very cool.
